Abstract
The theory of three terminal
networks is given a new unified formulation based on five relatively prime polynomials. A set of necessary and sufficient mutually independent conditions, which are equivalent to the residue theorem, coefficient conditions, and
admittance and impedance conditions, is given. These conditions are stated by means of the zero distributions of the five polynomials and a multilinear relation among them.
