  • Abstract
The realization of general hybrid matrices for resistive multiports is a problem which is of particular interest in the time domain synthesis of RLC networks from the state model. The hybrid matrix H can be partitioned in the form H = \\left[ H_{11} & H_{12} \\ H_{21} & H_{22} \\right] . Two cases are discussed in this paper: 1) Realization of networks for which H_{12} is an E -matrix. 2) Realization of networks for which H_{12} is not an E -matrix. In both cases H_{11} and H_{22} can be singular. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the realization of a given matrix as the hybrid matrix of a resistive N -port network are given for the simple case in which H_{12} is an E -matrix. Sufficient conditions are given for the more complicated class of networks for which E_{12} is not an E -matrix. A computer program realization technique is presented for both these classes of networks.
