Abstract
In this paper, a method is discussed that allows a more precise modeling of the S-parameters of a component by taking into account the way it is connected. The coupling between the feeding line and the component changes the S-parameters of the component by more than just a mere shift in the reference plane. This coupling is approximated by assuming that the feeding line only carries a travelling wave and by using elementary dipoles to model the radiation of the component.
