Abstract
The potable water in the Philippine Nuclear Power Plant is supplied by a network of ten interconnected deepwell turbine pumps. These underground submersible pumps are installed very deep in the ground. The region is hilly and large. Adequate protection of the expensive pumps, a high degree of automation, reliability and flexibility were the overall goals of the control and instrumentation. The advanced instrumentation consisted of: ¿digital control and digital monitoring. ¿a telemetry system for transmission of all signals between the master station and the ten satellite stations. ¿radiofrequency water level measturement in the wells.
