Abstract
This paper summarizes the development of two kinds of new 275kV self-contained oil-filled cables which are insulated with Polypropylene Laminated Paper (PPLP) or Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene Copolymer Laminated Paper (FEP/C) and kraft paper, respectively. Prototype cables were manufactured, tested in the factories, and subjected to an accelerated longterm (1-1/2 year) field test. After the successful field test, these two kinds of cables have been utilized in a main commercial transmission line of the Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. since November 1982.
