  • Abstract
    Tests on the subject of switching capacitive currents by disconnectors in Gas Insulated Substations have been carried out with various test objects and arrangements. This paper deals with the phenomena which occur during the switching operation. The causes of the transients and the increase in field strength are described by reference to the tests performed. The influence of various test parameters such as: voltage, gas pressure concentrated or distributed capacitances is shown.
