Abstract
It is apparent from existing results that the realization of lumped-distributed networks, delay-differential systems, and two-dimensional (2-D) systems is similar in some respects. But there are also several important differences which have received little or no attention in the literature. In this note, similarities and differences in the theory of these three types of network-systems are discussed.
