  • Abstract
The dynamic range of an active- RC filter is limited by the nonlinearity of the active device used, which causes abrupt transition in the output response, resulting in what is known as the jump-phenomenon. A new algorithm is presented to compute the signal level and the frequency at the jump-point. It is relatively simple compared to the existing methods and is applicable to any filter configuration, using BJT or FET-input operational amplifiers (OA\´s).
