  • Abstract
    A prototype test of an EHV cryoresistive cable cooled by liquid nitrogen was carried out in a 24 m length test line. The structure of the conductor for the cryoresistive cable was investigated experimentally and theoretically to decrease the ac resistance, and the EHV cable core and its terminals were studied simulating the operational conditions. The test results and conclusions obtained are useful for the design of a bulk power transmission cable.
