Modern Nuclear Generating Plant Controls An Integrated Approach

An integrated approach to plant control and monitoring has been applied to the development of the Gilbert/Commonweal-th reference nuclear plant design. The purpose of this paper is to describe this approach and to detail its effects on the plant design. Areas discussed include the development of the control and monitoring philosophy and the application of solid state control systems, programmable logic controls, and plant data acquisition and display computers.
