Abstract
FePt alloys have been electrodeposited from a stable bath containing Fe complex. Properties of FePt films are affected by post-annealing conditions. Changes of the annealing atmosphere from vacuum to H2 bring about the improvement of the L10 FePt properties because of the reduction of Fe oxide in the as-deposited films. The coercivity of 6 kOe is achieved by postannealing at less than 400°C in H2. This FePt alloy is uniformly embedded into anodic alumina-nanoholes, forming the excellent L10 ordered phase.
