Abstract
A nonlinear phase jitter compensator is demonstrated in a differential-phase-shift-keying modulated fiber link. The compensator emulates a negative nonlinear refractive index, correcting phase impairments caused by the combination of amplified spontaneous emission noise and the Kerr effect.
