Abstract
A laser diode array line narrowing using an external cavity with a holographic grating is demonstrated. A linewidth of 11 GHz is obtained at an operating wavelength of 852 nm with an output power of about 10 W. Narrow linewidth high-power diode arrays can be used to pump alkali lasers and to produce spin polarised noble gases
