Criterion for blind simultaneous extraction of signals with clear boundaries

In many practical problems the vector process of observations can be accurately modelled as a linear mixture of a set of independent signals or source processes. Presented is a new contrast function for the blind simultaneous extraction of these signals. The minimisation of the contrast allows the simultaneous extraction of the independent signals with the smallest support.
