Abstract
The paper develops an improved technique for nonlinear magnetic problems consisting in using a few Fixed Point iterations for providing a starting value for the Newton-Raphson technique. This approach is suggested by an accurate investigation on the behavior of these methods in the analysis of nonlinear magnetic field problems. The study, developed on a simple model problem, highlights the complementarity of these techniques. Finally, the improvements of the convergence rate and of the accuracy given by such an approach are discussed on a two-dimensional problem
