Abstract
A MANET is a wireless network in which nodes can act as sender/receiver or even as intermediaries like routers. Nodes in a MANET may misbehave with an intent to conserve resources. This happens because of limited resources available for each node. This causes a great impact on the entire network performance. The proposed system organizes a MANET in the form of zones and clusters with a Static Agent as a central node and a Zonal Agent for each zone. It is an improvement over Mobile Agent based architecture which is made possible because by introducing Zonal Agents. Thus, the system is able to detect Selfish and Malicious Nodes with reduced amount of information exchange between the nodes.
