Abstract
This paper describes a new technique to record minute corneal displacements caused by blood pressure pulsations behind the eye. The piezoelectric ocular pulse measurement (POPM) instrument uses a piezoceramic transducer in minimal contact with the cornea. The POPM system is intended to be used in the diagnosis of carotid occlusions which often lead to stroke.
