  • Abstract
Discusses how companies can remain competitive and lower production costs by utilizing effective technology and electronic transfer, outsourcing, and the transferrring of manufacturing plants abroad. Assesses the benefits of these strategies. No matter where you live, any of these actions can impact your employment. The reasons given for these types of actions include: competition required by purchaser and lower costs. But who really benefits from these actions and who gets hurt by them? Companies remain competitive and can lower production and development costs. They are also training their future competitors by eliminating or decreasing workforces in their home country. Companies that plan on returning to their home country for design or manufacturing may find this is not an option.
