Abstract
For pt.I see ibid., vol.134, no.10, p.768-72 (1988). In the pt.I, the applicability of the Lorentz or Coulomb condition in eddy-current problems using electric-vector and magnetic scalar potentials (T-U formulation) was examined. In this framework, an apparent paradox was presented leading to the conclusion that ´the Lorentz or Coulomb condition in general cannot be applied for systems comprising magnetic solids of finite extents.´ In this paper, the authors explain this apparent paradox, with the hope of re-establishing the general validity of these classical formulations.<>
