Abstract
This paper contains an analytic treatment of vacuum-tube performance with large applied voltages. The method presented uses the analysis of the transconductance characteristic of electron tubes, instead of the usual analysis of the plate current-grid voltage characteristic. By choosing a certain function and its Fourier expansions over a suitable interval of the g-eg characteristic, the analysis of electron tubes with large applied voltages is simplified. Experimental verification is carried out for a triode.
