Abstract
This article summarizes the state of the art of transformer modeling for the study of electromagnetic transients. It clearly describes the scope and limitations of the available transformer models for the low- and mid-frequency ranges. it also discusses about the duality-based viewpoint, the physical meaning of the dual Cauer model used to represent the nonlinear iron core.
