  • Abstract
    At the 1 May 1990 meeting of the IEEE Switchgear Committee in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA, Mr. John Conrad, Chairman of S&C Electric, was the recipient of a special Committee Award citing Mr. Conrad´s contribution to the switchgear industry and support of standards activities. His acceptance speech was quite interesting, centering as it did on standards-making activities and their effect on the US industry. His speech is published here in the Review.
