Abstract
A new design methodology for a closely-spaced, multiple-element parasitic antenna array is proposed. The design is based on the identified dominant surface wave mechanism. Optimum surface wave phase velocity is first determined for a fixed length array, and the antenna gain, radiation pattern, efficiency and input impedance are presented and optimized. Both numerical simulations and measurements are implemented.
