Abstract
Coherent multi-cell cooperative transmission also referred to as coordinated multi-point transmission (CoMP), is a promising way to provide high spectral efficiency for universal frequency reuse cellular systems. To report the required channel information to the transmitter in frequency division duplexing systems, limited feedback techniques are often applied. In this paper, channel information feedback and reconstruction for CoMP systems with strongly correlated per-cell channels are studied. Specifically, we first analyze the channel information that required to be feedback when the per-cell channels are strongly correlated, and then provide a channel reconstruction method for multi-user scheduling and beamforming in CoMP systems. Simulation results show an evident performance gain of our method over the method in literature.
