Abstract
An electromagnetic model for an induction bearingless electric motor is presented. The analysis of this model explains some previous reported problems. Based on this model and a mechanical one, a simple controller structure is proposed and simulations presented. A laboratory prototype of this machine was constructed and experimental results validate the analysis. The proposed approach can also be used for the design of better controllers
