  • Abstract
This article proposes a technique for providing reliable blind convergence of the phase-splitting equalizer. It is shown that the phase-splitting equalizer is difficult to train blindly with the conventional blind algorithm. The proposed technique modifies the cost function of the blind algorithm so that the two filters of the phase-splitting equalizer constitute a Hilbert pair. We also investigate the steady-state performance of the proposed blind algorithm for high-speed digital transmission application.
