Patents. A basic tool of engineering management

Last month saw the largest change ever in patents laws affecting British industry. The new British Patents Act, European Patent Convention and the international Patent Co-operation Treaty came into force on the 1 st June, and will enable industry to obtain a much more complete form of protection for its technological developments-but only if its managers and engineers make themselves more familiar with the use of the patents systems
