Abstract
Low-cost practical solutions to problems of less-developed countries that are being investigated at Windfarm Laboratory on Martha´s Vineyard in Massachusetts, USA, are described. These include prototype 1-kW Stirling engines, a solar cooker, and a high-head pump that can be paddlewheel or hand-crank driven.<>
