Abstract
The "2.5D" finite-element (FE) model is applied to time-varying fields with eddy currents in the end zone of a superconducting motor. The T-u method, with edge elements for the vector potential T of currents and node elements for the magnetic scalar potential, is free from cancellation errors. Stability of the time-stepping scheme is analyzed and compared with the two-dimensional (2-D) eddy-current case
