  • Abstract
    The North Wales supergrid system contains high-merit nuclear generation and the recently commissioned Dinorwig pumped-storage scheme. As a result of environmental requirements the transmission connections between this plant and the rest of the system are relatively weak. This has necessitated the introduction of special and novel protection schemes to prevent stability and overloading problems
