Abstract
This letter proposes new fault impedance computations for a two-terminal transmission line. Only unsynchronized two-terminal measurements are required when using the proposed equations. The fault location can be obtained by using a pure resistance assumption after computing the fault impedance. The proposed equations are very suitable for an unsynchronized fault-location problem. This study used a MATLAB/SIMULINK simulator to show the effectiveness of the proposed equations.
