Abstract
The optimisation of X-cut LiNbO3 BOA switches for low voltage, low insertion loss operation is described. An LiNbO3 waveguide switch operating at 1.3 mu m with an insertion loss of 4.3 dB, switching voltage of 4.7 V and extinction ratio of 21 dB is reported.
