Abstract
The Compania Sevillana de Electricidad (CSE), which produces and distributes electric power to the whole south of Spain, has a number of small control centers with old equipment to be maintained for which it is difficult to find spares. These facilities must be kept working until a replacement system is approved, designed, and installed. CSE has started a program to provide its maintenance division with a control system that would be ready to substitute for one to ten middle-size existing substations with 24 to 48 h. Its conception as a relocatable maintenance system covers the whole design. The system specifications, structure, functions, and adaptation to different environments are discussed.<>
