Abstract
One of the important directions for the gas metering is network transmission, such that the web gas management system can directly acquire the data of the gas usage for different customs, and give the billing and pricing without the human interaction. The gas meter is typically no wire connection for the safety consideration, so the wireless communication is necessary. An appropriate wireless module plays an important role for wirelessly transferring data of the gas meter. Therefore, we tried several kinds of wireless transmission modules, such as nRF24L01, CC1101 and WIFI module, to find out some cost-effective modules. The experimental measurement results show that nRF24L01 transmit power is 24.7uW when work on timing mode, which is much lower than other modules. CC1101 has a strong ability to communicate and WOR low-power mode. The WIFI module can upload the data to WAN easily. These results provide us a reference to selecting the wireless transmission module for gas meter terminal in different applications.
