  • Abstract
The authors discuss what it takes to be an entrepreneur. They begin by debunking three common myths: that entrepreneurs only exist in small high-risk, start-up companies, that they must be supersalesmen, and that they are born, not made. They then identify five characteristics an entrepreneur must have: willingness to take risks, a sense of mission, a high energy level, flexibility, and a bias for action.<>
