Note to IEEE Spectrum authors: IEEE Spectrum is the world´s largest circulation magazine in the electrical/electronics field; it affords the primary link between the IEEE and all its members. Spectrum objectives are to provide interesting and useful information on a broad range of technical and career-oriented topics and to provide current awareness for its readers of fields outside their immediate specialties. The staff of Spectrum works closely with authors to help them revise their manuscripts, drastically when necessary, to gain high readability and utility to the reader.
