Abstract
This paper presents new concepts for Class D amplifiers and similar circuits that improve efficiency and lower current stress in output power semiconductors, while reducing system cost and minimizing the size of the magnetics in output filter. Also, these improvements could potentially allow for a smaller and lighter heatsink. These Green Technology efficiency benefits could be traded for other improvements, such as increasing effective sampling frequency for lower THD and wider system bandwidth.
