  • Abstract
Healthy interaction between industry and university, for the well-being of both, vital to the strength of our nation´s economy, can be fostered by the use of industry advisory councils. A successful model exists at Arizona State University, where, from 1979 to 1984, the Advisory Council for Engineering has helped attract over $ 50 million of new resources. The planning and political efforts of the group used to accomplish this goal are described. A second five-year plan, calling for an investment of $62.5 million, has been initiated.
