Abstract
Effects of system frequency fluctuations on the performance of an induction motor load in stability studies are simulated. A modelling technique involving this type of load is presented. The model takes into account all major transient electrical/mechanical effects and also recognizes system frequency variations during power system disturbances. Application of this modelling technique in a single generator/load system is carried out and comparisons between results for the constant and variable frequency cases are given.
