Abstract
The present work aims to present a vibro-acoustic behavior analysis of a PMSM for light traction applications by coupled electromagnetic-vibro-acoustic approach. A multi-physics simulation environment is developed and used for radial forces and sound pressure evaluation of a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) for light traction applications. The radial forces delivered by the electromagnetic analysis are exported to an integrated suite of 3D FE software which simulates and optimizes the performance of the PMSM for noise and vibration.
