Abstract
In this paper are presented some effective and simple measures to improve the Electric Power Distribution systems service continuity. The main goal is to evaluate the development and performance of the distribution networks, through the study of their characteristics, and the analysis of the service quality indicators. This paper entails to point the actions that the Distribution Network Operator can develop to improve the service quality indicators on its own electric distribution systems. This study includes an investigation in a real world context, developed on a medium voltage distribution network. All simulations use the computational software package DPlan developed by the Institute of Applied Optimization and currently in use at EDP Distribuição.
