Looking Back at Three Years of ITS Magazine [Editor´s Column]

This issue not only marks the 3rd anniversary of the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Magazine but it is also is my last one as Editor-in-Chief. For 2012 and 2013, I have been elected president of the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society and while looking forward to this new task, leaving the Magazine causes a strange feeling. I still remember taking over this position 3 years ago when the Magazine neither had an editorial board, nor a paper submission and review process, nor a defined format and set of columns, and last not least, the Magazine was not yet known as a publishing organ and information platform of the ITS Society by its members.
