  • Abstract
The word “technology” is one of the most confusing and ambiguous words in modern use. It has so many different meanings in different contexts, that it is impossible to give it a reasonable definition. It is argued that the problems with the term arise, basically, from the failure of engineers to develop a proper concept of engineering as a profession. It is the failure of the universities to understand the professional aspects of engineering which have given rise to the resentment engineers feel toward the bachelor of engineering technology programs in universities.
