Relative advantages of modern steam and electric locomotives

THE subject of the electrification of railroads was debated at a joint meeting of the New York sections of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, on October 22nd, in the Engineering Societies Building, New York. The interest taken in this subject was indicated by the size of the audience which filled all of the seats and all of the standing room in the auditorium. Mr. E. B.
