Several researchers and engineers in the field of dielectrics and electrical insulation were among them. Dr. Hitoshi Okubo, professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in Nagoya University, was elected deputy president and will serve as president for one year from May 2011. After graduation from Nagoya University in 1973, Dr. Okubo worked at Toshiba Corporation for 17 years. He obtained the degree of doctor of engineering at Nagoya University in 1984 and joined the university staff in 1989. His major areas of interest are high voltage engineering and electrical insulation, especially diagnosis of the insulation condition in electric power apparatus.
