Making the right (interactive) moves for knowledge-producing tasks in computer-mediated groups

Computer-mediated communication (CMC) has enabled relaxation of temporal and geographical boundaries surrounding group tasks. A question is whether this opening is appropriate mainly for information exchange or whether it is also conducive to the interactive moves necessary for group knowledge production. This study examines knowledge production via email in a technology standardization working group.
