Abstract
The increase in wind generation levels in power system around the world and the fact that this type of generation interacts differently with the power network has made it necessary to study in detail the effects of its integration into the grid. In order to perform advanced study of the impact of wind energy, this research has implemented dynamic models of Wind Turbine Generator models of Type-3 (DFAG) and Type-4 (Full Converter) in the Power System Toolbox (PST), a MATLAB-based software package available for university research. Transient stability analysis through nonlinear simulation and small signal stability analysis are both possible for power systems with wind penetration using the implemented models.
