Abstract
Studies on the pooling of data have been concerned with the data from s-normal or s-exponential distributions. The principal reasons why we discuss here the pooling of data from (smallest) extremevalue distribution are that: 1) In life testing the experiment is frequently censored due to economic considerations and therefore the sample size is apt to be small. 2) The extreme-value distribution is widely applied in analysing life test data. As a practical example, the pooling of data from the breakdown of electric cable is also illustrated. The new proposal might apply to the life test of other materials as well as electric cable.
