As codirector of research, senior scientist, and Ankeny Scholar of retinal molecular biology at the Schepens Eye Research Institute at Harvard University, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and professor of ophthalmology and pathology at Harvard Medical School, Patricia D´Amore´s groundbreaking research focuses on understanding the mechanism of vascular growth and development, with an emphasis on blood-vessel growth in the retina. She has written over 183 publications, some of which have appeared in journals such as Nature Medicine, the Journal of Clinical Investigation, and the Development and Journal of Cell Biology.
