Abstract
We present a framework of frequency sharing in multi-hop OFDM networks. It enables simultaneous transmission of multiple hops without causing inter-hop interference. Hop diversity can then be achieved by exploiting channel frequency selectivity across active hops. Under the framework, we formulate a joint optimization problem of sub-channel assignment, power allocation, and time control. The proposed scheme is shown to achieve significantly higher spectral efficiency than hop-by-hop transmission. It also avoids the interference limiting issue incurred in full spatial reuse schemes.
